Giving teens the space to: 1) take ownership of a lasting faith in Jesus Christ and 2) form meaningful relationships with each other.
Whether they are new to the whole "church thing" or have grown up in church, LOCC students will find "Refuge" to be just that - a safe place where they can be real to discuss who God is, and how He relates to the issues that they face every day. Refuge meets on Sunday mornings (10:00-10:50) and on Wednesday evenings (6:30-8:00). On Sunday mornings, our middle school and high school meet together for a lesson from God's Word. Wednesday evenings include games, a time of prayer, an engaging message, and small groups discussions.
events
Throughout the year, students are encouraged to participate in different events. Some of these events - like CIY (our high school camp), Middle School camp, the Carolina Christian Youth Conference, and mission trips - are designed for students to deepen their relationship with God. Other events - like our Youth Inc mobile lock-ins, camping trips, ski retreats, and trips to the amusement park - are designed for students to deepen their relationships with each other.
In order to participate in Refuge events, a current medical release form must be filled out. You can fill one out here.
